Library and Digital Reading Platform for Literacy Improvement

The Horizon International Bilingual School Library is designed with adequate space to effectively serve students’ learning and research needs in accordance with the school’s scale. The library features a modern, welcoming, and well-organised environment that encourages reading, independent learning, and academic exploration for students at all levels.

The library currently houses more than 5,000 textbooks and reference books in both Vietnamese and English, supporting students’ academic development, research, and language proficiency. It is fully equipped with bookshelves, reading tables, seating areas, and comfortable study spaces. In addition to printed materials, students have access to the Foxton Reader digital library, which offers a wide range of modern, diverse learning resources.

Each year, the library actively organises a range of reading culture development activities, including reading festivals, book introduction programmes, storytelling competitions, and reading promotion campaigns. These activities aim to foster a love of reading, encourage lifelong learning habits, and support students’ holistic development.

Foxton Readers Digital Platform:

Horizon provides students with access to a range of educational reading applications and digital literacy platforms that support different learning levels and reading abilities.
For Secondary students, platforms such as Foxton Readers offer:

• Carefully graded books across 7 levels, from Starter to Level 6, designed for learners from beginner to advanced ability Foxton readers.
• Stories built around a defined set of headwords at each level, with key vocabulary essential to understanding highlighted in the text Foxton readers.
• A read-along feature using speech recognition that provides automatic narration by native English speakers, supporting pronunciation and fluency Foxton readers.
• Comprehension, grammar, and vocabulary quizzes at every level to reinforce and check understanding Foxton readers.
• Cloud-based access from any device, anywhere, plus student and teacher dashboards that track reading progress, quiz results, and homework completion.

Writer's Toolbox Platform:

Horizon uses Writer's Toolbox, an AI-supported digital writing platform, to help students build strong writing skills across every subject area. The platform teaches rather than does the writing for students, guiding them step-by-step through interactive reasoning tools that build clarity, purpose, and confidence in their writing. Teachers can assign tasks matched to their curriculum and provide direct feedback on student writing, while real-time data allows school leaders and teachers to track progress and identify where support is needed, fostering effective collaboration between teachers and students to improve academic outcomes
