Building Strong Partnerships Between Families & School at Horizon International Bilingual School

At Horizon International Bilingual School, we believe that a child’s educational journey is strongest when families and the school work hand in hand. The Horizon Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) was established to foster meaningful collaboration between parents, teachers, and school leadership while creating a warm, connected, and supportive school community for every student.

More than a parent network, the Horizon PTA is a vibrant partnership that encourages active family engagement, strengthens communication, and enriches the overall learning experience of our students both inside and beyond the classroom.

A Connected & Supportive School Community

The Horizon PTA serves as an important bridge between families and the school, helping parents become active participants in school life and student development.

Through close collaboration and open communication, the PTA supports students’:

  • Academic growth
  • Emotional well-being
  • Social development
  • Cultural understanding
  • Sense of belonging within the school community

At Horizon, we believe every family plays a valuable role in shaping a positive and caring learning environment where students can thrive with confidence and happiness.

Meaningful Activities & Community Engagement

Throughout the academic year, the Horizon PTA works closely with the school to organise a variety of engaging programmes, events, and community initiatives that strengthen the connection between families and the Horizon community.

PTA activities may include:

  • Family events and celebrations
  • Cultural festivals and international activities
  • Charity and fundraising projects
  • Teacher appreciation initiatives
  • Home visits and family engagement programmes
  • Parent workshops and educational seminars
  • Community outreach and volunteer activities

These experiences help create lasting relationships, meaningful connections, and a vibrant school culture where students, families, and educators grow together.

Celebrating Diversity & International Mindedness

As a multicultural international school community, Horizon values diversity, inclusion, and intercultural understanding.

The PTA plays an important role in bringing families from different cultures and backgrounds together through shared experiences, celebrations, and collaborative activities that promote mutual respect, understanding, and global perspectives.

By encouraging connection and participation, the PTA helps strengthen the welcoming and inclusive spirit that defines the Horizon family.

Every Parent’s Voice Matters

Horizon warmly welcomes all parents and guardians to participate in PTA activities, contribute ideas, volunteer, and share their experiences and talents with the school community.

Whether supporting events, joining projects, sharing expertise, or simply participating in school activities, every contribution helps enrich students’ educational journeys and strengthens the Horizon community.

Growing Together Through Partnership

Through collaboration, shared responsibility, and meaningful partnerships, the Horizon PTA continues to support the school’s mission of nurturing confident, respectful, responsible, and globally minded learners prepared to succeed in an interconnected world.

At Horizon, we believe that when families and schools work together, students flourish academically, socially, and emotionally — creating a stronger future for every child.

Building Friendships Beyond the Classroom

As part of the Horizon Parent-Teacher Association’s commitment to fostering a connected and supportive school community, Horizon proudly offers the Horizon Mothers’ Club and the Horizon Dads’ Society. These parent-led clubs provide welcoming spaces where families can build friendships, stay active, develop new skills, and enjoy meaningful social connections beyond the school day.

Meeting regularly throughout the academic year, the clubs offer a variety of recreational, wellness, and skill-based activities, including sports, cooking, handcraft workshops, and informal café gatherings. These experiences encourage parents to connect with one another, share ideas and experiences, and become more actively involved in the Horizon community.

By bringing parents together in a relaxed and engaging environment, the Mothers’ Club and Dads’ Society help strengthen the partnerships that support our students’ academic, social, and emotional well-being. They also reflect Horizon’s belief that a vibrant school community begins with strong relationships among families.
