This year, HIBS has introduced a new literacy program called the Reading Mentorship Program.
This year, HIBS has introduced a new literacy program called the Reading Mentorship Program. In an effort to inspire students to read more and further develop literacy skills, Secondary and High School students are partnered with Primary students during Silent Reading Time, every Tuesday and Thursday. Mentors and mentees spend each session reading to one another. This program has helped to foster a closer HIBS community as well as encourage love for reading at all ages. It has also been a great opportunity for older students to develop leadership skills. As we have seen, they are very proud to be role models to the younger students.
