The scholarship program at Horizon International Bilingual School intends to provide students with financial support for their further education as well as a reward for their achievements and efforts.

Those students who receive scholarships will have exemplary character and will share the values of our school community. These students will exhibit qualities such as integrity, leadership, initiative, care and compassion for others, and personal responsibility.

Annual scholarships offered by Horizon International Bilingual School are a one-time gift for outstanding achievements in CAIE examinations. 

 

Scholarship Categories

Horizon International Bilingual School offers a number of scholarships each year to the following students who are going to continue their studies at the Horizon International Bilingual School:

  • Grade 5 (Year 6) students who scored 50 in English, Mathematics and/or Science in Primary Checkpoint Exams. 
  • Grade 8 (Year 9) students who scored 50 in English, Mathematics and/or Science in Lower Secondary Checkpoint Exams. 
  • Grade 10 (Year 11) students who scored B/A/A* in IGCSE subject examinations.
  • Grade 11 (Year 12) students who scored B/A/A* in AS-level examinations.
  • Grade 12 (Year 13) students who scored B/A/A* in A2/A level examinations.
  • Students awarded The Cambridge “TOP IN COUNTRY” 
  • Students awarded The Cambridge “TOP IN THE WORLD” 
 
Primary Checkpoint Scholarship
 

Horizon International Bilingual School offers Cambridge Curriculum in primary education, and students have the chance to take Cambridge Primary Checkpoint tests at the end of primary education. The tests have been designed to assess learners at the end of Cambridge Primary. They are available in English, Mathematics and Science, and give valuable feedback on learners’ strengths and weaknesses before they progress to the next stage of education.

 

Horizon International Bilingual School offers a one-time 300 USD scholarship reward for Grade 5 students who got 50 from one subject in the Primary Checkpoint examinations of the April/ May Series. The amount will be multiplied by the number of subjects with a 50 result.

 

The top three Grade 5 students who got 50 in all three subjects, English, Mathematics and Science in Primary Checkpoint examinations of the April/ May Series will receive a one-time 1000 USD scholarship from the school. The results will be determined by adding the strand results of Reading, Usage, Writing, Algebra, Geometry and Measure, Handling Data, Number, Biology, Chemistry, Physics and Scientific Enquiry. The top students will not receive additional one-subject reward/s.  

 

If a student is eligible for the aforementioned rewards, the amount will be waived from the tuition fee in the second semester of the following academic year.

 

Consideration of OCT/NOV sessions is at the discretion of the School Administration, depending on the situation.

 

Lower Secondary Checkpoint Scholarship

Horizon International Bilingual School offers Cambridge IGCSE curriculum in secondary education, and students have the chance to take Cambridge IGCSE Exams at Horizon International Bilingual School. 

 

The following rewards are entitled to the subjects offered within the IGCSE programme of Horizon International Bilingual School.  

 

Horizon International Bilingual School offers a one-time 100 USD scholarship reward for Grade 10 students who got a B in one subject in the IGCSE examinations of the May/ June Series. The amount will be multiplied by the number of subjects with a B result.

 

A one time 500 USD scholarship reward is offered to Grade 10 students who achieved an A or A* in one of the IGCSE examinations of the May/ June Series. The amount will be multiplied by the number of subjects with an A or A* result. 

 

A one time 3000 USD scholarship is offered to Grade 10 students who achieved an A or A* in 5 five different IGCSE examinations of the May/ June Series. Students receiving a 3000 USD scholarship will not receive additional one-subject reward/s.  

 

Students awarded The Cambridge “TOP IN COUNTRY” will be offered an additional one-time 1000 USD scholarship reward from Horizon International Bilingual School.

 

Students awarded The Cambridge “TOP IN THE WORLD” will be offered an additional one-time 3000 USD scholarship reward from Horizon International Bilingual School. 

 

If a Grade 10 student is eligible for the aforementioned rewards, the amount will be waived from the tuition fee in the second semester of the following academic year. 

 

If eligible, students who choose to take exams at the end of Grade 9 will receive award/s only once during the second semester of Grade 11.

 

Consideration of OCT/NOV sessions is at the discretion of the School Administration, depending on the situation.

 

AS Level Scholarship

The syllabuses develop a deep understanding of subjects and independent thinking skills. Horizon International Bilingual School students have a chance to take A/AS Level examinations at Horizon International Bilingual School in Grades 11 or 12.

 

The following rewards are entitled to the subjects offered within the AS/A level programme of Horizon International Bilingual School.  

 

Horizon International Bilingual School offers a one-time 100 USD scholarship reward for Grade 11 students who got B in one subject in the AS/A level examinations of the May/ June Series. The amount will be multiplied by the number of subjects with a B result.

 

A one time 500 USD scholarship reward is offered to Grade 11 students who achieved an A or A* in one of AS level examinations of the May/ June Series. The amount will be doubled if a student gets an A or A* result in two subjects.

A one time 3000 USD scholarship is offered to Grade 12 students who achieved A or A* in three A2/A level examinations of the May/ June Series. Students receiving a 3000 USD scholarship will not receive additional one-subject reward/s.  

 

Students awarded The Cambridge “TOP IN COUNTRY” will be offered an additional one-time 1000 USD scholarship reward from Horizon International Bilingual School. 

 

Students awarded The Cambridge “TOP IN THE WORLD” will be offered an additional one-time 3000 USD scholarship reward from Horizon International Bilingual School. 

 

The scholarship will be paid in cash (in VND) to Grade 12 students when graduating from Horizon International Bilingual School.
 

Consideration of the OCT/NOV series is at the discretion of the School Administration, depending on the situation.

 

General rules and requirements 

These rules are applied to all kinds of scholarships offered by Horizon International Bilingual School. 

  • Only the students who desire to continue their education at Horizon International Bilingual School are eligible to receive Horizon International Bilingual School scholarships. The students transferring to Horizon International Bilingual School from other public or private schools can receive the scholarships if they achieve the requirements and continue their education at Horizon International Bilingual School.
  • Students must have an excellent work ethic, as demonstrated in school reports and portfolios, to hold the scholarship.
  • Students must maintain the results expected of a scholarship recipient. Any scholarship recipient whose review has been unsatisfactory may have their scholarship withdrawn.
  • Being inexcusably absent for more than 20 days will result in the withdrawal of the scholarship.
  • Dropping below the grand average (average of all lessons) of 80 at the end of the academic year will result in the withdrawal of the scholarship.
  • Receiving in-school suspension, out-of-school suspension, or expulsion will result in the withdrawal of the scholarship.
  • Dropping below discipline of 0 points at the end of the academic year will result in the withdrawal of the scholarship.
  • All Scholarships are granted or withdrawn at the discretion of the School Board.

Horizon International Bilingual School reserves the right to make changes to this policy at the school’s sole discretion.
