Reading is one of the four macro skills that all students learn in language. It enables us to decipher written symbols and give meaning to them. Hence, reading is one of the most important milestones that our students can achieve.
This year’s edition of the reading festival introduces the concept of a readers theatre. A performance where students will not only read random words and sentences but tell a story and read with more feelings and emotions.
Mr. Rovshan Zeynalov formally opened the event and welcomed the parents. He also shared notable achievements of grade 1 students, including their outstanding performance in IXL and RazzKids.
The students staged five children's stories. This includes timeless classics like The Lion and the Mouse, Pinocchio, Mother Dog and Her Puppies, Jack and the Beanstalk, and the Vietnamese folktale Cây khế. Each tells great lessons about kindness, honesty, caring, opportunities, and hard work.
The event was made possible through the efforts of the homeroom teachers of grade 1, Ms. Vanessa Echalas, Ms. Vuong Thi Hoa, and Ms. Nguyen Thi Bich, together with the head of primary school, Ms. Amanda Lepera, who also served as host of the event.
