Horizon International Bilingual School
We are committed to helping every child grow in confidence and succeed in English. Our English as a Second Language (ESL) support programme provides targeted teaching for students who are developing their academic and social English skills.
We use the WIDA framework to assess language proficiency and monitor progress. WIDA is an internationally recognised programme that helps schools understand students’ strengths in listening, speaking, reading, and writing, while guiding the next steps in their language development.
Students in Grades 2-5 who require intensive English support and achieve below 2.6/6 level in their WIDA assessment join specialised, individualised ESL classes. These lessons are carefully designed around each student’s needs, helping them build vocabulary, confidence, comprehension, and communication skills at the right pace.
Students in Grades 1-5 who need continued support or who have just progressed above 2.6/6 proficiency level receive weekly small-group support sessions after lessons. These help students strengthen specific language skills, consolidate classroom learning, and continue making steady progress.
Through personalised support, close monitoring, and encouragement, we help students develop the English skills they need to thrive in every area of school life.
