School Bus Safety: A Secure and Caring Journey Every Day
At Horizon International School, student well-being begins long before the first lesson of the day and continues until each child returns home safely. Our bus service reflects the same values of care, responsibility, and safeguarding that guide every part of school life, with organized procedures and trusted supervision supporting daily travel.
Horizon provides access to transport through a certified professional provider, and both drivers and bus staff receive safety guidance aligned with the school’s security policies. Each bus is accompanied by a dedicated bus safety assistant who supervises students throughout the journey, helping maintain a calm, orderly, and secure environment.
Bus safety is closely connected to campus safety procedures. The school compound is accessible through staffed gates with digital ID scanning, and parents receive notifications of entry and exit times to stay informed throughout the school day. During dismissal, bus monitors collect riders at designated points, while a 30-second pick-up/drop-off scheme supports smooth traffic flow around campus.
Bus assistants also play an important role in daily transitions. In the morning, they oversee safe boarding and ensure students start the day calmly; in the afternoon, they carefully supervise drop-off and confirm students are met by their parents or designated guardians. Families are asked to inform the School Office in writing of any changes to arrival or departure times to ensure clear communication.
