Lower-Secondary

At Horizon International School, our Lower Secondary Programme (Grades 6–8) supports students through a transformational stage of growth — the exciting journey of discovering who they are as learners and as young people. Guided by the Cambridge Lower Secondary Curriculum, students deepen their learning in English, Mathematics, Science, Humanities, and specialist subjects while developing independence, curiosity, and critical-thinking skills.

Project-Based Learning (PBL) is a meaningful part of the learning experience at Horizon. Students engage in real-world projects that encourage inquiry, creativity, collaboration, and problem-solving. They learn to ask questions, explore ideas deeply, connect knowledge across subjects, and present their thinking with confidence — developing both academic depth and authentic life skills.

Lower Secondary life is further enriched through leadership opportunities, arts, sports, clubs, and community engagement. Students are encouraged to try new experiences, reflect on their strengths, and build a sense of purpose and identity.

Strong pastoral care underpins everything we do. Homeroom guidance, counselling, and social-emotional learning ensure that students feel supported, safe, and understood as they navigate early adolescence.

In our boutique-school environment, every learner is known personally. By the end of Grade 8, Horizon students are confident, self-aware, and well-prepared — academically and emotionally — for the demands of IGCSE and their future pathways.
