Empowering Every Learner Through Inclusive Support

At Horizon International School, learning support is designed to help every student thrive across subjects and through every stage of learning. We recognise that students have different strengths, starting points, and language profiles, and we provide responsive support to help them grow with confidence.

A key part of our approach is our WIDA-informed language support programme, which helps us identify and support students with English language needs. This support is not limited to language lessons alone. It is carefully connected to learning in English, Mathematics, Science, and other subject areas, so that students develop the academic language, vocabulary, and confidence needed to access the full curriculum.

Through pull-out instruction, push-in classroom support, and our 3E approach — Expose, Experience, Engage —, students are supported in building both language proficiency and subject understanding. Additional support systems such as Individual Learner Profiles, peer tutoring, and targeted small-group interventions help ensure that learning remains personalised and inclusive.

At Horizon, learning support also includes challenge and extension. Through enrichment opportunities, students are empowered not only to meet expectations, but to grow beyond them in a caring and ambitious learning environment.
